The child, a resident of Murshidabad, arrived from Abu Dabhi on December 10 at the Hyderabad airport.

The 7-year-old’s sample was taken for RT-PCR test, which came positive. Genome sequencing showed the Omicron variant.

He is undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Murshidabad district.
