An under-construction building at Kannauj railway station in UP collapsed on Saturday and around two dozen workers were feared trapped. According to initial inputs, the lintel of an under-construction building for the new terminal at Kannauj railway station collapsed and about 30 workers are said to be trapped while about 23 have been rushed to hospital.

Work was underway for constructing a two-storey building at the railway station site.

Uttar Pradesh Minister Asim Arun told the media, “Work was going on for the new terminal at Kannauj railway station, today the under-construction structure collapsed here. 23 people were rescued, 20 people received minor injuries, they are undergoing treatment.”

“3 people are seriously injured and they have been referred to Lucknow. Some more people are feared to be trapped. Rescue operation is going on,” news agency ANI quoted him as informing/
